Google Chrome Labs, the experimental web app part of Google, has an image optimisation tool, and it’s pretty cool.
There’s already a wealth of free online photo editors available, but Squoosh is designed to work as quickly as possible, showcasing the capabilities of modern browsers.
It’s called Squoosh, and it works quickly to showcase what can be achieved in modern browsers.
Squoosh can convert and optimise images in many formats, including PNG, JPG, and WebP. You can resize images, and reduce colour palettes, and much more. You can use it without an internet connection
Optimisation results are previewed in real time, using a nice slider to see the image before and after. The resulting file size is also updated in real time, and you can download the images once you’ve finished.
